The Warlock's BIG GUN

there are 2 openings above the hangar bay, those are the particle cannons

The two barrels above the hangers are the rail guns.

As others have note the HPCs are beside the hangers, with scaffolding running down there sides..[/quote]

I wasn't talking about the railguns  those are the turret above the BARRELS which as I CORRECTLY said was the particle beams

I like the idea of a ramming spike.

Like the original Emperor class in spacefleet (pre BFG gw space combat) The faster you went, the more damage you did.

I didn't know there Was a space-based miniatures game before BFG...

Yup, Space Fleet. You played it on a big grid, and each ship had set movement. So each player(in secret) would mark down how their ships where moving that turn, and then all the ships on the table would be moved at once. To shoot you would toss the dice into the box lid, that was devided into nine sections. If the dice went into a miss section, they missed. If they went into a hit section they hit. If they hit, and rolled a six you scored a crit.

The shooting was a bit random, but I loved the movement. You could end up with colisions all over the place if fleets were too close.

This was the gothic battleship of the time, and my first ever painted tabletop mini.

Ah man, Space Fleet was a classic game! Straight out of the box it was only OK but with the WD articles in 139-145 it became awesome. The grid kept things simple for plotting movement and there was a great range of ships to choose from. I may just have to get my copy out of the attic and have a game or three...

Should we try and get JMS to answer it?

he's possibly the last person at B5 who'd know! Others designed the cgi models, doubt very much if he had input on weapons and weapon locations. Just look at the number of cgi goofs as testimony to that
