The Robot Handbook is Here!

I would caution a lot of folks about the early MJTAS volumes:
A bunch of the material in many of the articles has been superseded by later Mongoose rules. Also, almost none of the material are 'official rules', they're options, alternatives, and IMTU variants.
All this is fine, btw. The original JTAS was the exact same thing. Things in JTAS 3 was superseded by the official rules in Mercenary, High Guard, and Scouts later on. The JTAS volumes were and are intended to give players and refs other options to follow and other voices to be heard.
So, basically, unless it has been superceded, it is still the current Mongoose "ruleset", the same way things in the Traveller Companion are part of the Mongoose "ruleset" Everything is optional in Traveller, even the Jump Drive.

Within the Third Imperium OTU future era history the first discovery of hop drive is by the Republic of Regina sometime in the late 1800s

Assuming you follow Eaglestone's timeline.
The OTU timeline pretty much stops at Virus and the various recovery scenarios are very MTU type stuff. So far as I know, Eaglestone's Marches is more fanon than canon.
