The Prestige War Witch of the Older Slaine Dtwenty Game.

Standing-Stone

Banded Mongoose
As I had been giving thie older rule book a good reread. About the War Witches --One of the Prestige class's--. as at later levels. They can assume their own shoggey Beast form, and beyond that. become a Hybrid El type creature, whatever the sub- type of their own permanently.

Does the mean they can be partly elven -One of the Shee--, Goblin, or orc.

A type of Undead, like the shadowry devourer or even a vampire. if such a thing exists or can be considered to be from the realm of the dead.

A spectral Dragon.

A light-El or Devel like Elric. I wouldn't be surpised in these circumstances. This would be how he started out. As a male Witch. Perhaps, thats what he is Just a very ancient War Witch who started out as a mortal witch and has become what they are in Slaine time line as a powerful Dev-El Sorcerer.

Considering the theories of Ian Sturrock, it makes sence to mee though it's not actualley directly referrred to.

Has anybody tried creating a Elfric for their game?

While still on that subject/ I thought maybe this what that Pluke creature is. A further evolved war-witch. Not really a favorable way to go. Perhaps thats not the case.

What of the female El's. Humoniod looking attacking the pluke screature. What of they?

Moving along now. Reading about the Half-dead. Preseumrably anybody that has died or been, murdered on soured land riseing again, --not actuallye pointed out in the trule book I beleive-- as this variant of zombie or by the some drune sorcerey that requires undead minions that can obey simple directions. Like move, stop ,attack. obviously trapped between the world of the living 9 Which they natureally can no longer return to and the realm of the dead. --Again , not pointed out in the rule book Henace their classicifcation as Half-Dead. and not another El sub type from the realm of dead. Because they are trapped, presumrably locked in physical stasis. Slowing down the putrification that started once the rigor mortis set in. But stopped once the currupted earth power revived them

I just hope I got that clear.

Though, I haven't bothered comparing this with the Runequest rules, but I suspect this hasn't been covered yet.

Sadly, my pessimistic side is starting to take over again. I agree with Troll66 that its looking very much like some of our thoughts will never be answered in print and that certain things we might have hoped to see in print will never see the light of day.

I don't have my D20 stuff around at the minute, but I would have to say that high level War Witches being able to become Half-El creatures doesn't really fit with my view of the game. Shoggey Critters...Yeah, why not, but El creatures.....naah.
As for Elfric, if I were using him in a game,I would consult Von Richten's Guide to the Shadow Fey and the Ravenloft Gazeteer volume V(the Shadow Rift).
They gave me some great ideas for El creatures and how "Elves" could be used in a Slaine game.
There's the "Seelie" and "Unseelie" courts, the "Sidhe"(Shee) and the "Sith". These seem to fit the mould for elves.
Theres some stuff about changelings and a host of other more "Faerie" like creatures.
I would make Elfric a Sith Noble Warrior/Witch.

So, I guess your rules for Elfric is a personal choice. I was wondering if Elric of Melnibone is any help. seeing Elfric was thought of as way of poking fun at the older character.

On the subject of the Dtwenty Rules. I'm now referring to one of the skill which I think is called Salmon Leap Defence

It's a special leap performed to avoid being shot by projectile weapons.

It just seems so unlikely that leaping up in the air would be a good idea.

Isn't armour class all about padding, movement and visability?

Absolutely Standing Stone. Elric is quite probably the template for the Elfric character.
The root race in Moorcock's writings are the Eldren(per Dragon in the Sword). From these spring a number of races, the most notable being the Vadhagh and the Melniboneans/Mernii.
In the 2nd series of Corum books and in the book Stormbringer, Corum and Elric are both taken to be Elvish or Faerie creatures IIRC. This could provide a basis for another take on the creatures of the EL worlds and a Seelie/Unseelie court.
Good thinking. :)
