The next career book?

professional athletes
broken down by different sports
and background on sports and games in the the universe

and sports betting , of course

I'm just noting which careers have been splatted out so far:

Mercenaries - Army and Marines
High Guard - Navy
Scouts - Scouts
Psions - Psions
Agents - Agents (legal or otherwise)
Scoundrels - Rogues and Drifters
Merchant Prince - Merchants
Dilletante - Entertainers and Nobles

So yeah, all that leaves is Citizens and Scholars. I can see them as being seperate books, or one book, depending on the amount of material on offer. Robots isn't a career, as such, but it does need a sourcebook. After then, are we totally done? does it categorise every type of career we can imagine in our own society or, indeed, in the entire universe?

Well, that would finish off the in depth coverage of the careers in the core rulebook. Other careers could be covered.

A new Career Book would not necessarily have to be published by Mongoose, I guess, given that there is a OGL in place. I remember that the Scouts career path was first elaborated on for CT, by Paranoia Press ("Scouts and Assassins" if I recall correctly).

As was mentioned upstream, Spica has published TWO career books which have expanded the basic careers including the Civilian career into three specialties. There are also a lot of non-TMB careers to inspire players and Referees alike (Slaves, Adventurers, Space Patrollers etc).

Perhaps not a career book. Being the number crunching grognard I can be, some things that have not gotten the full blown treatment yet are:

Robots (Just how much can that STR 30 Robot lift?)
Detailed World and Star System design (ala World Builder's/World Tamer's Hanbooks)
Detailed Equipment Design stuff (FFS was fabulous)

Two of those three are planned at least.

Jon Brazer Enterpises has specialized careers in it Mech Tech N Bot book Mech Squadrons (Military Mech Crew Member, Mercenary Mech Crew Member, Civilian Mech Crew Member), Samardan Press has The Mage in "Flynn's Guide to Magic in Traveller" (Yes a magic system for a Traveller Compatible product)
