The Great Traveller Clean-Up!

I could accept this, with the main unease stemming from the CT body pistol doing only 2d6 damage.

An easy fix is to forget about Classic Traveller. We're using Mongoose rules. If you want CT, well there is already a game called CT that does all that.

And given the way you phrase that, your choice of phrasing would drive me to that. Simply out of disgust at your attitude dismissing my houserule, instead of accepting that the rules-as-written don't work for me, causing me to try to figure out how to work it for myself.

I am accepting it. But that doesn't mean Mongoose needs to re-write their rules.

And yet you argue with me about it, so that means you don't accept it.

I accept that a pistol will do minimum damage, but to me that means it does at least one point of damage. Characteristic damage is how Traveller, regardless of publisher, tracks damage. While I like Mongoose's work, damage is one of my pet peeves - there's a reason GDW rewrote weapons damage to have pistols do 3d6 damage instead of 3d6-3, and I think that Mongoose would do well to heed it. (A flesh wound which goes through the arm or such still does one point of damage. It's only someone with very low endurance which won't shrug it off.)

Apologies if this has been mentioned before... the Introduction to Traveller PDF has a lot of blurs, overtypes, and other font issues, I suspect because of how it was translated from word processor format to PDF. (At least, my copy does, YMMV.)
