Smile. Now I just need some bugs to squash.

Fantastic color scheme. I feel your pain when using a black and white paintjob. With the stark contrast I think the black of the weapons ends up looking washed out. A quick grey highlight would do the trick.

Very nice looking force, well done.

White parts excelent.

Not that fond of guns though. Way too dark. Bit of grey highlight to black parts maybe?

Moritas isnt't that bad but with the missile launcher it seems more like unpainted part

But really like the white armour. Care to share how you pulled it off?

I paint white the same way I paint all my colours... 7 layers!

1) black undercoat
2) dark grey
3) black ink
4) dark grey drybrush
5) light grey drybrush.
6) light grey + white drybrush.
7) white drybrush.

After seeing the pics this morning I knew I should have highlighted the black. I just posted them anyway just to see what everyone else thought...

The only problem is I already dulcoted them.

will it look bad if I highlight the black now?

7 layers? You got to be kidding!

*faints*

Well okay my bugs have pretty many layers(5 I think for the main body) but atleast 2 of those are inks...

You nuts!

But atleast models look good

tneva82: Sometimes I do the last 3 layers at once - mixing paint on the fly, sometimes on the model. I use 3 brushes - one for highlight, one for white, and one to mix with. Once I have all 3 brushes with paint on them, I will just use the darkest one first and most heavy.

Rabidchild: I will try that and post updated pictures. I am planning on painting the other MI I have, but only after I finish scratch building wasp packs. 28 might take me a long time...

And before I get around to that I want to try my hand at painting some bugs.

Very, very, very,.... very nice. I love that colour scheme, simple, effective, and cool, a neat paint job, and well executed.

Now, back to your painting desk, we all want to see more like this. :D
