That color scheme looks GREAT! It contrasts VERY nicely. I've always been a fan of back and a bright green, almost "Borg-ish", but the black and red look fantastic.

... still like cats, though  .

Your ships look awesome! Did you add the tiny little turrets to the nolo'tar yourself? I like the dog pics, what breed are they. (I'll resist the urge to post cat pictures on your thread  )

More wolf in there than Malamute. Looks very like a giant Fox.

How big do they typically get? Where are they from?

she is big, bigger than an german shepheard, shes about 3/4 wolf comes from antartica way as the name sugests innuits, as in iceland/eskimos,
shes a lovely old softy with kiour kids but still very protective.
as shes only 2 1/2 at the mo, gonna train her on sleds (road carts) soon.
she loves to hunt in our fields for rabbits, gets a fair few as well.

I have an uncle who used to train Malamutes (sp?), or was it Huskies, I think, to run in the Idarod. Hasn't done it for years though.

ummm, ok. Antarctica doesn't have any canines or natives, but sure...
Have you thought about Skijoring as well? Better for the dog than being a single dog sled-team. And more fun for the skier/passenger, as well. Course, you can't carry anything more than you can carry and you need a 2nd dog and setup for another person...

...Just did some research on them, how the hell did they breed the aggressiveness and loner tendencies of the wolf out of them?

Chern, they don't run many Huskies in the Iditarod. Mostly Malamutes due the size, speed, endurance considerations.

Actually Taran most of the dogs that run in the Iditarod are Mutts. They call them Alaskans, but they are mutts. I am a Siberian owner, well actually 2 of them, so I keep track of the teams that are pure Sibe. I think there was only one of them last year.

ARGH! I hate it when I forget important stuff like that...! Still, more Malamutes than Huskies...
And those Mutts they call "Alaskans" often have a lot of wolf in them.

nice paint job...looks very "Shivan" like (if you know Freespace)
some of my own designed warships have an very similar paintjob.

and sweet Wau Wau´s

TARAN..

well on the whole a lot(most) wolves are not nasty by nature, they have a good pack instict , which converts to a loving friendly animal , very protective and caring, innuit dogs were originally used to hunt, protect their master then come home and curl up with the kids,
i have worked with a lot of pure wolves without any problem ever.
they are even beeing brought back into some places as peoples silly fear of them disapears, ( sorry, not saying you were being funny bout them just trying to tell you bout them).
we would love another one, but with two kids, horses, mad dog, arghhhhhh.
we tried to get the purest breed line we could, but some people have crossed them with german shepheards (not right) but i think this is mainly the canadian innuit.
hell we should start a dog club listing.
dogs in space, captains of bin taks, puppy drones, lol.
:D

Just to defend the 'silly fear of' that some of us have.

Many pack animals are wonderful as long as you are able to be strong with them. Sadly a lot of folks don't have that inherent dominance that puts them a step up on the pack line. A strong pack oriented animal that thinks it can take the top spot can be a problem for a lot of folks as it will try to assert itself. If you get scared when this happens you can easily push the animal over into real violence as you try to defend yourself from what looks very threatening.

Not saying they aren't good companions for a anyone who can be the alpha, just saying that they aren't the angels your painting without that kind of person.

i have done lots with animals and reptiles, ran a reptile shop for ages, so met a few guys who ran wolf centres and managed to get in on that and spend time with them, it was well cool, im not in the least frightened by them, they never seem agessive even if you dont "alpha male it with them" a friendly aproach worked as well, to reasure them you are no threat, you would be down on the pecking order, but i wasnt in it to dominate.
we also know the main innuit breeder round here, not one of them has ever had bad tendencies,(apart from wanting to eat small dogs, lol, thinks they are prey).
there main prob is they are so big and over friendly they can really have fun with you, main probs are their 2" nails,"ouch"
taran, yours look lovely on that stone, looks a lovely place....lucky bugger!
