the brain bug and air craft

Hey I have been having a problem with a fellow game member, well not a problem with him just with the rules. Right the brain bug has the ability rupture right and can use it on anything it can see on the battlefield so can it do it on pilots of air craft?

Page 56 of the Arachnid Army book...

"Psychic Talents cannot be used by models that are underground and may never affect units moving in the air phase"

So, you CAN use it on aircrafts, but only if they've decided to land.
