First of all, I would like to say that I agree with much of the discussion so far. I would like to mention that for these calculations I specifically avoided trying to include tactical factors such as speed, range, scouting, etc. as I do not feel that they can be directly mathematically modeled. These factors are far too dependant on your overall fleet structure, style of play, opposing force composition, the presence of terrain, goals of a given scenario, etc. I specifically did the calculations to build a tool to help compare the various ships ability to fight it out. The list is also not directly useful to tell you “this ship will beat that ship” - instead it is a general rating.
The calculations do factor in GEG and Interceptors, as well as the increased damage caused by critical hits – not the effects of critical hits as this falls into the realm of the tactical.
Triggy – I am curios as to why you rate the Minbari Nial noticeably higher then the ISA Nial as the ISA has the +1 crew quality advantage. Is this because you feel that the Minbari gain a greater benefit from a Nial like ship?
