The Baileoisin Chronicles

To be honest I was hoping to have this done some time back (four five months, minimum) but life has a way of messing things up.

If I was working on this like a normal project it would already be in your hands.

I'm sorry to hassle Mongoose Acolyte, I understand how life can sometimes deal from the bottom of the pack.
My Slaine game is on hold anyway, as the linchpin of our gaming group is currently on a spot of leave, and I refuse to run Slaine without you Tarkhan Bay... Return to us soon, we need your Celtic brain ball working it's magic.

"Linchpin" :shock:
Thats a first Ronzo. You have referred to me by several colourful sobriquets at our gaming sessions but "Linchpin" is not one that instantly springs to mind.
Worry not mate, I will return as soon as I can.

Sorry to hassle, but Slaine Rune Quest appaers to be sinking into obsucrity.

Some people have hinted that Slaine as RPG is starting to lose it's popularity.

I'm still interested myself, even if I don't really play. I just collect the material.

I thought the fact that Rebellion are buying Mongoose Publishing being a result of this perhaps.

Anyway, I was wonder if Baileoisin was ever coming out or has that now been cancelled due to lack of interest.

Excellent idea to bump the thread.

It was initially scheduled for the end of this year but as it doesn't appear on the Mongoose program, it is good to question.

Its "Shadow of the Sorceror " all over again, isn't it. Told you so. Come on Mongoose, either fess up or make me eat my words.

I must remind everyone, this is not a Mongoose project, but a personal one by one of our editors!

Well we should know that Slaine has been and always will be a niche game since the only ones that truly get excited over it regardless its game mechanic incarnations are Slaine fans. I would agree though that since the release of the main RQ Slaine book it has been pretty quiet.

I believe, though I may be wrong, that Shadow of the Sorceror was also a personal project by Jason Durall. It never saw the light of day(although it apparently exists in manuscript form).
If I am incorrect in my recollection of this, please feel free to put me right.
While I do appreciate that Slaine MRQ is very much a "Niche" market, surely one supplement in roughly two years is not too much to ask, particularly if it was an open campaign setting.
From what I have read(on these boards) about the new vision of the Orlanthi in Glorantha, it might even have crossover potential.
Our gaming group will feel desperately aggrieved if new material is not forthcoming as we have purchased no less than three copies in hardback and one in softback(such were our hopes for a Slaine renaissance).

May be it would be good to offer us a kind of "advancement status" from the author so that we don't stay too much and too long in the dark.

BTW it would be a great idea to develop this idea and apply it to every Mongoose product. :)

Support for what I love hurts me the most, supporting Blackburn Rovers is mostly frustrating, the lack of support for Slaine wounds me deeply and my jock strap has shrunk in the wash... please someone ease my pain!

Addressing Curly the Wear-Bear.

Doesn't your sig picture mean 'Take Slaine Alive' in Ogham.

Couldn't tell ya :? , it's pointless anyhoo, Slaine wouldn't let anyone take him anywhere, without ripping them a new rear-hole first :D

Hello to Mongoose Acolyte. Can you let us know how you are getting along with Baileoisin? There are people waiting with baited breath for your work.
The only thing that has stopped MRQ Slaine from growing is the lack of official support for this line. If good official support is provided, then I believe that many of the old D20 Slaine players will return to the fold.

Return to the fold? I think the Slaine fans are still supporting and playing the game it is just the boards are not as busy. But I will agree that the boards will get busier once the book comes out.
