Just to let you all know...

Randy Dorman, author of Clans of the Aslan, has just dropped the Aslan Hierate manuscript, and we are diving into it straight away. Expect to see this one in the first half of next year.

He has now started work on the grand Aslan-centric campaign set within the Hierate. We are still putting together what this will actually look like, but the phrase 'Game of Thrones with Cats' has been mentioned more than once...

Very welcome news from MongooseMatt on the Discord:

Excerpt from the new Aslan Hierate book:

While previous books have primarily used transliterated Trokh names when referring to Aslan clans or individuals, The Aslan Hierate instead uses Galanglic translations wherever feasible, generally providing the native name only upon the first occurrence in the text. Thus, the currently highest ranked clan in the Hierate, the Yerlyaruiwo, will primarily be referred to as the ‘Firstdawn’. Although a moderate use of Trokh words can make for a more immersive experience for many readers, too much can quickly become confusing and off-putting. Even with a pronunciation guide Trokh words can be intimidating for Travellers and harried Referees alike to attempt speaking aloud.

And there was much rejoicing...

Ring out ye bells!

I make up human-friendly names for clans, most worlds, most individuals etc because as a giant racist I don't even know any Aslan, let alone have them playing at my table, but having someone do the hard yards of making up some plausible names will make things easier.

I can only suspect that the wall of unpronounceable and completely impossible-to-memorise Trokh in previous books (like the otherwise great Clans of the Aslan) was aimed at the sort of people who think "why waste my time learning French or Spanish or Mandarin? I'll learn Klingon!"
