just want to thank you guys for reviving this system. the new rules are so fast and fun that most of the warhammer mini players at our local minis night are now playing pickup games of dredd in between longer WH matches. Every one of them has reported after the game how fun and fast the system is.
It really shines if you can get multiple-level platform terrain which helps obscure the LoS from those deadly ranged weapons. Close combat is not happening as much as I would like so far to warrant any close combat specialists with no gun. Except when the fatties are involved. don't let them get within charging range!
Last night we played a made up scenario of 3 gangs attempting to scrawl in each other's territories. A small force of riot judges equal to 2 gangs pts entered the board from the 4th quadrant on turn 3 and moved diagonally across sweeping up perps.
The game end trigger was any one of the following:
a) when the judges arrested everyone,
b) judges got to the opposite corner (we assume the H wagons arrive by then)
c) one gang scrawled in each of the other two quadrants.
Worked out well!
one gang managed to do C just as the judges were mopping up the last of his gang.
