Terrain suggestions

I'm trying to decide if I want to make my own buildings, or get commercially made stuff.

Anyone have recommendations on source material for ideas, or on sources for ready made 28mm buildings?

I have looked all over, and there isn't much to be had. MBA has some but are really, really expensive (Around $50 US for a single small building, up to around $100 for larger ones) and seeing as how I'd need 5 or 6 buildings, that isn't going to work.

What do you guys use?

You should be able to find something here: http://www.thefaceofbattle.com/resource/terrain.html If not, I recomend using foam core board for walls and MDF to use as a base board. Buildings do not take long to make, but it depends on how much detail you want to add.

what period do you need buildings for ?

reasn i ask is i have different stuff for different periods, ie scfi terrain for WW2 doesnt work.

European buildings, late war, you know - the stuff covered in WaW. Maybe a chapel, or a manor house if I feel adventurous...
