Telling Klingon ships apart on the battlefield

Will the Klingon transfer sheet have numbers/letters in addition to the trefoil?

My Klingon fleet is pretty uniform and record keeping is a bit of a challenge as one F5 or D6 is identical to all the others and adding a tag to the stem spoils the aestheic.

The same will apply to Romulans (although you could vary the belly bird color and the cost of picking the ship up to identify), Gorns and Kzinti.

We had the huge Fed versus Klignon battle Firday night.
31 Klingon ships...
9x D6, 6x D7, 9x F5, 6x E4s, D7C and we had no trouble telling them apart.
I used the colored Post-it note flags to differnetiate the units.

They're quick, easy, cheap, and removable.
Just label it with the ship ID and stick it to the base. It's easy to read and no one questions which ship is which.

I'll probably paint id(number/name) to either base or somewhere visible in the hull.

Once i get more than 3 of one type of hull I usually add a very thin fleet color strip to the wings of my klingons. These color match the fleet colors in F&E. (Red, Blue, White, etc.) Furthermore you can add z little htch line or 3 to the fleet markings to till individual ships appart. Once i get really into serious fleet building I will add a starburst pattern around the sensor dishes just to carry the theme foreward.
