TAS dividends - how much are they worth?

Short questions: A TAS member gets a free high passage every two months. This can be sold.
I don't know any organization that would hand out free luxury trips no matter the distance. Do they hand out J-4 high passages in your TUs?

Thing is, I have built a character that is a TAS member and has no connection to the trader our group wants to run, only to one of the other chars, and just being the board security guy may be a bit small for him.
So I thought about taking all those high passages, sell them and invest the money into the ship, which would result in a ship share every... well, here's the problem. How much can I calculate for a high passage sold? An average of J-2 high passages?

Let's say that ships works around a system with a J-2 gap between it and a J-1 main as well as two adjacent J-1 worlds on his side of t he gap.

Older material says "High Passage, 8.000Cr worth" about the ticket. That means 48.000Cr/year.

Given that TAS membership costs 1.000.000Cr that means TAS has to invest the money for around 5-8 percent interest per year to cover passages and quarters/libraries etc. Should be do-abel investing in a few Megas.

I'm sure the TAS gets a very good discount on the tickets, so the real cost will be much less. After all they need to cover their operating costs as well.

So, I'll take KCr 9. Thanks

@BenGunn: That's not even 1%. KCr 8 is more like 8 per thousand.

6 Tickets per year at 8.000-10.000Cr/Ticket => 48.000 t0 60.000Cr/year. And a 1 percent yearly interest of 1.000.000 is 10.000Cr. So you need between 5-8 percent yearly interest to pay tickets and other stuff for the member.

*facepalm* of course you're right.

Since MGT adjusts the cost for distance, I would make it a J1 High Passage per month. Several J1 HPs could be combined to make a longer trip using the costs if desired. Sell it for 80% of a new ticket.

Assuming MGT states TAS benefit of High Passage Ticket per 2 months - does it not specifically address the redemption value - seems like an important oversite that would have been remedeed already?

(Darn slow USPS - still waiting on my books!)

Nope, it just says that they can be sold and refers you to page 142 which has the cost per distance and definition of HP.

I would make it a J1 High Passage and worth 6,000 CR per page 142. Give them full value, no big deal.
