Tales from the Floating Vagabond

Kurgan

Mongoose
Hiya,

When I saw this sub-forum's title, I immediately thought of Tales from the Floating Vagabond. One of the few gems that deserved a place on the shelf next to Paranoia. How appropriate that would be, now that Lee Garvin's got the rights back from Avalon Hill, if Mongoose published a new edition of it, too.

I know Garvin was wanting to do that himself, but I don't think his small-press outfit, --Reality Cheque--, is ever gonna pull it off. The website's gone, and his other, newer RPG "Control: The Game of Absolute Corruption," got published by Skirmisher, of all places (a fairly small-time publisher).

Yep, I think a shiny new Vagabond would definitely be a sweet addition to the Mongoose catalogue. :)

Seconded! I've gone through 3 copies of that game since I first bought one. Read and played them to death. Thankfully I've now got PDFs safe and sound. But I'd definitely buy a new one.

Well, speaking as the creator and rights holder of the game, I would be open to a discussion on the subject.

Well, it is available for download at DriveThruRPG.com and RPGNow.com.

Hello sir, and thank you right away for your excellent job !
I've been enjoyiing your game for many years and was planning to gather a few players for a game this winter.
my idea was to have them play their favorite character in any game, and have it poured into the vagabond.
BTW, I think it is a great idea to have Mongoose publish again the tales, but what about a clear and neat mix with hitchiker's guide to the galaxy's editor and right owners ?
Like a "Hitchiker's guide to the floating vagabond's multiverse" ?
Second to the ability of visual support from the movie, it could also use the books and movie's fame to get a larger audience.
Do you agree ?
I expect greatly to read from you any time, and you like to express again my gratitude for the job you did.
Cheers !

Lionel, from the vicinity of Geneva
