Just as interesting is the BMPT or teminator, designed to engage lots of lightly armoured or infantry targets. Both the BMPT and the T-95 are being sold to other countries (the Saudis are reportedly getting T-95s) and the BMPT is looking like a favourite for countries fighting insurgencies or other non-state actors.
The T-95 is an interesting design, and given the massive love Russians have for ATGMs, I can't imagine them sticking less than 4 on this. That sort of standoff firepower combined with a 135 or 152mm gun gives a tank developmentally in the same era as the Leopard 2A6, the Challenger II or the M1A3. Any sort of land conflict between the USA or major European powers with first line equipment is incredibly unlikely, but the prospect of Middle Eastern countries with lots of oil that we'd like to liberate from their terrible governments is a possibility, and the Russians need hard currency, and want to build their influence in the region while reducing ours. Add unresolved border issues with the Ukraine and Georgia, and we might see this stuff in use in the next five years. It will certainly be interesting to see what the Chinese and Americans deploy in that time period.
