Suggestion: Bryan Gibson Art

Banded Mongoose
I would like to petition Mongoose. To use Bryan Gibson's spaceship and vehicle art in the upcoming Vehicle and Fighting Ships books. It was one of the major reasons I got into the Traveller game. Back during the T20 explosion.

I prefer Mongoose keep on with their own artwork style they have going now, so the books all have an original look that matches.

Good choice, alas he passed away in 2014. So Mongoose would have to use art he has already done (the T20 stuff is excellant) which could be tricky as FFE and or his estate would own it.

How about Rob Caswell?

I was approached for the ship designs... never mind.

Caswells art is top notch... Yours is not half bad either :)

Problems with licensing aside, I mostly wanted to see his designs stated up for the new system.
Especially ships like the Qasar scout cruiser. Along with the other cruiser adventure ships.
The fighting ships I would love too. I hate to say it, but they look better than the standard Traveller look. Maybe because they were designed in the 70's, and still have that kit m\bashed pseudo star wars look from the movies of the time. Gibson's stuff just looked more organic and streamlined for the most part.
Ships like the Perisher Dreadnought vs. the Plankwell for example. SO yeah ships like the Perisher, Lorimar, Diaspora, etc.

You know I did a version of his Armed Merchant years ago.. Must update and find it. Got better since then.

Here's one of my latest, did it awhile ago then updated. Best compliment I got was from Rob Caswell himself

Nicely done. I am a big fan of the streamlined hull shapes. , The surface detail and hull lines ae something I still have issues with...can't get the bloody models to unwrap the way I want LOL...And overpainting them with Gimp is not a skill I posses.....yet. I really should take some classes...

Just finished this one...

Having 2 guns per wing doesn't automatically make it that. It's a basic shape. And something you could pull off in space. Remember Babylon 5's Starfury? Well that also had the excuse of needing engines. etc. at different axis.

Very saddened to hear of his passing In 2014. He roomed with a friend of mine and myself at GenCon some years back - back in the Milwaukee days.

He actually went out during the convention and had "CAT Fusion Power" baseball caps made for us right out of T2300. I most always put it on whenever I run a Traveller game.

I also still have the Sparrowhawk (think that is its name) Hoverjeep pencil drawing he gave me. That said, perhaps I am incorrect, I'm not sure he drew a particularly large number of starships.

I really am a huge fan of the Stead and Caswell work, btw.
