Great looking belly birds that paint up wonderfully but can't be seen on the table. Why couldn't those pointy eared Roman wannabes use back birds instead? :?
I don't plan to go to the effort of painting them. Now if Tony starts selling decals for the Roms, I might putty in the birds, make the surface nice and smooth and decal them instead.

The Romulans in Star Trek: TOS painted the bird on the underside of the ship so that it looked good when it flew over you. They also had a cloaking device which made the ship invisible, meaning you couldn't see the bird anyway.
The Romulans in SFU aren't the same as the Romulans in Star Trek. For one thing, their cloaking device does not make the ship invisible, meaning you can see the bird when it is cloaked. It also means that if you prefer the bird on top, you're welcome to put it there. Good luck painting it or putting a decal over the superstructure of a Kestrel or the upper engine of a Sparrowhawk.
