Static blade and axe

I was just comparing static Axes and Blades.

Beside the roleplaying benefit of the blade vs the axe (smaller, easier to conceal), the axe appears to have better damage, better AP and an extra trait.

Isn't that a bit too much if we consider the two of the same category and compare them?

An axe does more than a blade in Traveller. Blades don't chop down trees as well.

With Arc we went to just "weapon".

I find it silly that with advanced wpns, RPGs are still prescriptive as to what melee wpn is better. Light axe vs light sabre... have it more of a personal style issue, rather than a "if you use a static blade not a static axe, ur inferior in every way"

Overall, I don't mind since it is mid-TL option.

It is a natural human tendency to compare, it happens all the time. It is how our human brain works. Also - legacy from tons of min-maxing in board and computer games.

The following is only my perspective: having fine tuned details in a game is a sign of care. Little details are often irrelevant to the core of the experience, but bring this feeling of polish and exquisiteness to the whole product. If time allows, taking care of the little things should be considered.

Btw it's not very clear which weapons are two handed and which can be used with one hand (not that it matters much though).
