As a wargamer rather than a roleplayer I am a little thoughtful about this.

On the one hand I know Mongoose's core business is rpgs.

I think there is a bit of a gap in the wargames stable with the wait for victory at sea, and while I think manufacturing moving to companies that specialise in manufacture rather than rules/publishing/design/manufacture may strengthen Mongoose in the long term, it is a bit of an end of an era.

There are certainly some questions. What are the left field projects? Will Mongoose be happy publishing wargames rules without attendant miniature lines? Does this throw open the door to new ideas and lines? Will Mongoose look to digital channels and be more experimental? Will there be more freelance projects?

Here's an interesting question: would mongoose be interested in selling the files to those that want to make their own 3d printed minis?

Is "Mongoose en français" definitively dead? It would be odd considering there's 2300AD French Arms supplements and Deus Vult's "Rouen" in the works but I don't have much hope. Just had to ask as I love Mongoose's RPG lines...

Well, as I say in the address, it may not be permanent, but we feel it is right for us at the moment. You never know what the future (or technology) might bring, so we remain agile.

We may well still be doing miniatures for some lines - Victory at Sea is a good example.

We can certainly afford to do so.
