Starter set and other books

I have all the main (Revised, SFOS and Armageddon) ACTA books at the minute, and my friend is getting the starter set. What i was wondering was whether he would need the revised edition before getting Sfos, or if the starter set and Sfos would be enough

so he needs both? That does kinda cost a lot, what would he be missing out on if he had SFOS and the starter set but not the revised box?

the full rules, for one. The "starter set" doesn't have all rules and traits and abilities - its a VERY simplified version of ACTA.

so if he got SFOS wouldnt he just need the couple of pages explaining what the terms like 'beam' or 'super AP' mean? I cant think what else hed be missing.

I think he'd be missing out on the entire Advanced Rules section from the box set as well.
