Spitfire Question

Mongoose
Since the WaW books are soon to become unavailable, I figured I'd pick up both the 'Pacific' and 'Warbirds' books while I could (just to complete the 'mongoose' set). I was intending to buy the vehicle compendiums first - but as I say, I thought it wisest to get the print products while they are still available.

Anyway, since the books have just arrived, I'm now a little confused...

...in 'Signs & Portents #56' the generic (including the Mk XIV onwards) spitfire (with two Hispano 20mm cannons, and four Browning .303 MGs) is 195 points, and bombs may be added for another 35.

In the 'Pacific War' book the Spitfire V (with the exact same stats and guns as above) is over 200 points, and bombs are more expensive too.

In 'Warbirds of WWII' the Spitfire XIV (which carries the same guns - but the speeds have changed - though it does say that these stats can also be used to represent other marks of Spitfire) the points are different again...

...so any idea what I should use?

With the exception of the Pacific War Spit, all other designs and points are from Matt.
The Pacific aircraft stats and points will work well enough together but since Warbirds is the more comprehensive and more recent book I would take the stats there! If you want to use aircraft in WaW take Warbirds, everything else before was just for warm up!
Hope that helps.

Agis is right - the Warbirds book was intended to replace all air power that came before (it is more comprehensive, and takes into account the revised air rules in that book).

Thanks ...I kinda thought/hoped it would be the Warbirds book that supersedes the others (but both that and the Pacific book have 2009 printed in the front - so I couldn't be 100% sure what superseded what, without asking the question).

Thanks again guys :D
