Spinward Marches has disappeared - and so has 760 Patrons!

Hivers and Grandfather aside, what's the new projected release date for Spinward Marches and 76 Patrons/Mercenary? :)
Supposedly this month, but since SM (or was it 760P? Or both?) actually been written (or completed - same thing, more or less) by late last month, when they were originally scheduled for release, and, worse, hadn't been submitted to Marc for approval, well, don't hold your breath.

What's the delay between approval, physical printing, and shipping to Mongoose in ... Swindon (?) ... from wherever the printers are?

I suspect even late this month is ... optimistic ... and, since we haven't heard much about the state of Mercenary, I suspect it's no more likely a June release either.

Of course, official statements would be ... nice ...

Okay, guys, rumour control :)

Spinward Marches has been approved and will be going to print this week, and 760 Patrons will likely join it. Mercenary is just about to go to approval, and will be hot on their heels.

Next up will be High Guard - we are currently predicting an end of July release, but there is still some development and playtesting to do on this one and, of all the current Traveller projects, it is the most complicated, so if any book slips slightly, it will be this one. That said, if it does move, it won't affect any other titles.

While HG is the book I'm most anticipating, and I can't wait to get at it, please take all the time you need to get it right.

Every single advanced vehicle design system for Traveller produced after HG and Striker have been horribly flawed. Both the MegaTraveller system and FF&S had page after page of errata. Later printings were fixed up, but I bought first and asked questions later, and was left with hundreds of pages of firelighter material as a result. The systems were so complex and the flaws so numerous those early printings were unusable even if you had the errata. They were also so complex that even the designers weren't able to use them properly. MAny of the designs in 101 vehicles were either horrendously flawed, broke the rules left right and centre, or were just plain ridiculous.

As a result I'm hoping for a system that's reasonably close to the old Book 5, but modernised in a similar vein to the MGT main book. That would get the job done, yet controll the complexity so that hopefully any revisions or mods to the system will be relatively minor fixes.

Didn't the original High Guard have some fairly serious scaling issues itself - going on dim memory plus conversations last night with other Traveller players.

I have to say what Im looking for is much the same - High Guard concepts, with holes plugged and modernised to fit MongTrav.

With Spinward Marches out before my next session I'll be able to tell my players where they are going and perhaps discribe the used ship yard that they are buying from. It will be nice to tell them proper canon info about OTU.

I'm way too excited about this!

Awesome news! 8)

It's been selling well in this sector of space...

I come back from a business trip and get good news like this. Wonderful.

I have left a message with my FLGS to remind them to order me one of each. :D

Thank You for the heads up.

They where one of my tweo faves when I was stationed in LA. The other was in Eagle Rock, but unfortunetly, they closed just before I moved out. But LG was always a great shop.
