Spacecraft Hull Values

I'm new to Traveller... so apologies up front for some rather basic questions ...

Is a Space Craft's Hull value the same as the tonnage? The "Damaging Spacecraft" rule reads, "Once the total amount of damage a weapon is causing
has been calculated, [...] The remaining damage is the total that is removed from the spacecraft’s Hull" (Core Rules, p. 158). When I look at the Common Spacecraft provided in Chapter 9, the only Hull value listed is tonnage. So I'm assuming a Free Trader can take 200 hits before being destroyed.

The lower left corner of each ship stat page has a box labeled Hull points, usually under the profile pic of each ship. That’s the value you reduce damage from.

The Free and Far Traders for examples, have 80 hull points.

p. 10 of High Guard:
under 25,000 tons: 1 hull point per 2.5 tons
25,000-99,000 tons: 1 hull point per 2 tons
100,000 or more tons: 1 hull point per 1.5 tons

Can be further modified by Reinforced or light hull, and special hull types p.10-11

I'm on p. 168 of the Core Rules and I don't see the Hull Points listed. I only have the PDF version. (Ahem, Mongoose Publishing, I'm still waiting for my paper copy to come in). Am I on the wrong page? Do I need to pick up a copy of High Guard?

That’s... interesting... in my book, both physical and digital versions, there’s a hull point box in the corner...

Is it possible you have an older version? Mine’s called Traveller_Core_eBook_FEB_18. If you have an older version, try to re-download it and see if you get a newer one.

That is the latest Core pdf. The Hull values are missing, I hadn't even noticed before.

Look at the "Traveller_Core_Rulebook_2020_-_BW.pdf" black-and-white version, the Hull value is there.

Oh, that’s right... now I remember, I got a notice that an update was available, thought “I’ll download it later” and then I forgot all about it!

Weird that they’re missing in the new one, good thing the B&W version apparently has them!

Thanks, everyone. I'll keep my eyes out of the B&W PDF. But ... the rule, "under 25,000 tons: 1 hull point per 2.5 tons" will work just great. And that makes much more sense to me. "200" points just felt high to me....
