Spacecraft design

1-6 weeks. Made that up just now, but it fits in at the bottom of the time increment chart, and if you want it faster you're welcome to risk the minus.

I'm thinking of new designs but more or less of the shelf technology, and sub-1000 dtons. Could be longer still for cutting edge/high tech design, and for larger ships.

Pick a number, any number. Depends how much they are getting paid, how big the facilities are, ship size, the TL difference, their experience. It is just a game based on an alternative hypothetical future. Predictions, based on current science in our own timeline might suggest this kind of thing will happen in seconds. (See current developments in AI architecture, etc).

I'm thinking system integration.

Naval architects have millenia of experience to look back on as to what works and what doesn't; the technology doesn't really change, just improves.

So it's more about making sure everything plays nicely with each other.
