Space Stations

For my campaign I tried my best to convert the space stations from Sky Full of Stars for each race instead of using the generic space station in 2nd edition. The same thing for orbital defenses. Does anyone know if Mongoose will be releasing race-specific Space Station stats/Orbital defenses for 2nd edition? Until then, has anyone performed the conversion besides me (I only did it for Narn, Minbari, Psi Corps (an Orion), and Abbai)? Care to send me a link?

Space Stations were removed from 2nd ed. because Mongoose wanted to do them justice both in terms of rules and miniatures (and sales) in a future supplement rather than rushing them into the initial release and having an under-used mish-mash of rules.

THere are plans for Space Stations but don't hold your breath at the moment.

Bummer! I figured they were going to do something with them, I just don't like the generic station and space stations are still used in 2nd ed Campaigns....

As much as I'm enjoying having 8 Black Omega flights, I'm looking forward to race specific (and hoefully balanced) space stations.

Jep, hopefully much better Starbases then in 1st Edition.

I did a conversion of some of the B5 Wars Starbases before 2nd Edition came out. If I have time I'll update them to actual rules and post them here.

I want defense sats models, they will make our campaign awesome.
Can't wait till they bring Bases & Sats for all races.
Our were hoping there will be multi priority bases/sats. Don't think the God sats were skirmish lvl.

I think Burgers ship viewer has stats for defence sats for each race, 1e,not 2e though. I don't think they would need much tweaking to bring them into line for 2e.

IMO the 1st Ed bases and sats were a joke. For their level thei offered too little real firepower.

Looking at the B5 War station, all that changed for 2nd ed is the Heavy Pulse Cannon lost Twin-Linked, and Defence Network was swapped for Anti-Fighter trait and upgraded a bit. You can probably just swap Defence Network for Anti-Fighter with the racial ones, and you're good to go.

I did a Defence Sat and a Starbase for the Earth-Minbari War Update. Just need to playtest it next week since they were playing Confrontation last night
