Something that is most likely going to grind my gears...

Mongoose
Okay, I hate to say it, but I keep hearing a lot of ugly rumors about units with limited ammo. Now, for a realistic sense, that sounds like a great idea. However, in the world of battlefield evo, it brings some very interesting issues to light.

1) the game rarely lasts 8 turns, so limited ammo can be an issue, but most likely will rarely be an issue.

2) counters and keeping track. We already need stuff for supression, reaction, out of command, etc. Is it necessary to keep track of the SAM missles a Tunguska has? (I think after firing 8 missles, either the air threat will be gone, or the Tunguska will be popped). I am guessing after reading the tunguska that air units will have limited ammo most likely, which may in fact complicate the game more that not with a myriad of counters needed. As for ground units, I don't want to see them based, but some sort of disk included with the model would be nice because that would cut down on a cluttered game table. (doesn't have to be fancy, but just a circular click disk, perhaps with the model name and the Battlefield Evo logo, so it could be matched with its respective unit)

Okay, now, for the quick fix. If you want to limit ammo, it would be great if air units had disks on the feet of their bases that could spin to keep track of what the model has left. heck, even if Mongoose doesn't do it, I bet some third party company could come up with something. I am just looking for ways to cut down on the clutter that I already have to place on my gaming table to track all my units (and i am specifically concerned for when our battles cross the 3K mark and knowing who reacted, who has supression, etc really will be harder to track w/o counters).

the only units with limited ammo are SAMs and aircraft with AGMs/AAMs, so it's only a handful of highly specialised units that you need to take care of - counters or coins would do the trick.

but as the usmc only transport it gets front line work load, it should have been 1-3 as a unit and as a support slot, in my opinion, maybe only allowed to carry Recon guys.

and if other stuff is gettin limited ammo then how the hell doese the shadow not have limited ammo ?

so yes i may join your rant, but i got a feeling the limited ammo thing might get droped, i could be wrong , but for the type of game evo is , dropping it makes sence.

Actually they should have a different vehicle entirely for this. It's like using an FAV to haul your troops around in!!

Well, that was somewhat my point - if the game lasts so few turns, we don't really need limited ammo.

However, if we have it, there are plenty of units that should have stuff like that (as much as I hate to say it as a USMC player, the shadow should have limited CKEMs).

But, if we are going to have limited ammo, I just wish it would be set up in such a fashion to facilitate it in a way that would ease the strain on the game setup itself. Obviously, we want it to be a realistic as we can make it for a tabletop game, but on the same side of the coin, we also need to have a way to account for it.

Let's not forget that on our game board we also have our billion 6 and 10 sided dice, and have to also put counters on/near our models to count hits on models with "tough" as a trait. I just want to try to address this earlier than later and in a constructive manner in a hope that we as a community can assist Mongoose in making a product that pleases the most people as possible.

agreed

grenades also spring to mind

At most there should be approximately four CKEMs in those launchers, which is effectively plenty.

Grenediers (Riflemen equipped with the M203 or equivalent) tend to carry enough shots to do continued supression fire. And as far as I know, MGP neglected to give the rest of the soldiers Hand Grenades...

Comes with TOWs, dispite the poor engineering on the current models.

Meanwhile, they're using a four person vehicle to carry six people and have give it a role it's not suited to in even the most liberal of senses...

much like Future Lynx  face it Hiro you've decided to whine just like me! We all have something which stretches our credulity that bit too far......

I'm with Hiro in this case.

I would like to see the Shadow brought into a more realistic role once the EFV comes out. 4 CKEMs and maybe an artillery spotter role, but no transport ability.

maybe in the future of the BFEvo world the USMC haven't enough Bradleys/Hummers/LAVs whatever due to combat losses and they are forced to refit Shadows as troop carriers.........
