Played US v Japs last night and have a few questions.

1. Can spotters spot at night or planes operate at night?
2. When you spot with a ship do you have to spot each individual enemy ship or once have spotted one you have spotted them all?
3. Likewise with radar?
4. Can you fire torpedoes at a ship if there is another ship in the way?

Thanks in anticipation.

I'd say that you can.

The ships are actually far smaller than they are on the table, it's the centre point that represents where the ship really is. Therefore drawing a line through the model isn't a problem.

Good question, I don't think the rules cover this (which is embarassing as I playtested them...) Realistically, night ops were fraught with danger, and I'd say no. Rules may be added to add the element of danger.

Technically, you have to spot them individually each Turn. But most people don't bother, once they're spotted you can keep track of them.
3. Likewise with radar?
Yes, likewise with radar :)

No ships 'get in the way', the 'ground' scale is too big. It may seem unrealistic, but actually it's more realistic than treating ships as though they were a mile long! It's a matter of perspective.
