So...about State of the Mongoose 2017...

what about Hiver and K'Kree books? It's been AGES since the last race book was done for MgT1. I would have thought finishing the race books would be a priority.

is there a spaceship combat game in the works (I still think Victory at Sea can be hacked into a vector movement based system, or there is always A Call to Arms: High Guard)
Agreed. Doing a vector combat game 'just so' isn't easy but the results could be very interesting.

We would indeed like this to be the first of a small line of Traveller miniatures games. While ships will not be the second game... it looks like they will be the third (and possibly fourth, but I digress).
Look forward to it.

Will the Hiver's and K'Kree have "new" Sector information if you can say? I've been waiting since like 2009 for the books :)

Will be intrigued to see what comes up. Vanguard looks good - a nice boarding action skirmish system is always cool, and the rules being similar-ish (from the looks of the blog post) to Traveller core rules means importing PCs from a game is far from impossible.

A ship combat game would be cool but part of me is interested to see an analogue of the infamous Fifth Frontier War game. Given the shift in centre-of-attention to the reach with this edition, a game basically covering what was Pirates of Drinax episode 10 (finale) as a more regulated board game could be cool; with a few variations on the theme for different scenario - Drinax vs Imperium, Drinax vs Hierate, or (as the 'big money' title fight) Imperium vs Hierate as the much anticipated war kicks off over the top of the reach and everyone in it.
