Slightly larger bases ok?

Rules wise I mean? The models are absolutely gorgeous and I want to give them slightly larger bases with a bit of scenery on to make them look even better. Is this allowed? I know in friendly games it won't really matter but but it affect the game mechanics at all? I have the rulebook but haven't played any games yet.

I wouldn't think it would affect mechanics... Depending on how much bigger. It'll be easier for you and your opponent to get into melee and may make it harder to hide behind certain terrain but I don't think it's against the rules

Thanks guys, going to build some slightly scenic bases for these beautiful models, can't wait to get them- the mk1 mechanismo is just gorgeous, loved the idea of them since reading the Dredd mega collection mechanismo book a few weeks back :)

They look good. I've not found any hard rules on basing for Dredd so I've gone with regular 25mm bases for regular human-sized infantry and 40mm for larger models such as fatties, kleggs, and klegg hounds. I like that Dredd doesn't have super strict rules for bases. It focuses on the fun and that's what we get to have. Some games are so rules heavy that they are almost a chore to play. I don't want that for Dredd. I want clear, concise rules so that I can play an enjoyable game and with Dredd I got that.

Fully agree William! THe Dredd game is one of the best rule sets I've ever used, lots of fun, fast moving, intuitive and overall just one of the best games ever (along with dark future of course :D )
