Slaine Theory.

Standing-Stone

Banded Mongoose
I was thinking about Slaine's ability to Warp earth power through his body. Assuming that he can also store and carry around earth power with himself.

Sort of like a living Warp-Stone.

Correct me if you think I am wrong, here.

Anyway, you know how the presence of Warp-stone on a Sky boat is what allows it to fly.

Then would it be hard to assume that Slaine can use his own warp-power to fly un-aided also?

Sort of like a stone aged Superman.

Feel free to disagree with me and point out any huge mistakes in the theory or just say that this sort of idea is far to unbalanced and goes against the orignal material.

For instance he may have to roll high on a d100 to fly safely.

ROTFLMAO!

Wow. I never thought of that before!
However, I recollect a mention of "Rise Prayers" [edit: p. 119, below] needed to get a sky chariot off the ground, right?

I would think that Rise Prayers for Slaine would have another effect.

The sexual innunendo and phallic symbolism from my other post here was un-intenional. As is the chioce of my new user nick name.

Though the more I think about Slaine being able to fly the more silly I think it sounds.

As for 'Rise Prayers' . I did forget about those. Slaine certainly wouldn't know about them. I guess.

I'd had that warping had much to do with the power of the Earth. As such you or Slaine should have some contact, even a symbolic contact, with something from the earth.

That would be Slaine the Defiler

Despite it's initial differences to the comic, I think it is shaping up rather well.

Defiler is the second verse in the Lay of Sláine Mac Roth, son of the Sessair. Sláine possesses the secret plans of Slough Fegg for ragnarock, though he does not understand them. He hunts Tall Isen the wanderer, and together with Ukko they cross between worlds, entering the realm of the Sidhe in an attempt to avert the end of all things. In the realm of the Sidhe Sláine rescues The Knucker, a dragon, from the Otherworld, and quest for the Cauldron of Rebirth, a gift fit for a High King . . . Only then can Sláine return home to Murias to claim his place at the forefront of his people, redeemed.

Damn the Itlaics aren't working for me .

That book description. I had cut and pasted from Amazon.com.

The 'Ragnarok Question' thread I put up a short while ago had alot to do with what I read in the synopsis above.

I was just wondering anybody has read 'Slaine , Lord of Misrule'. It would seem that his warping ability has been upgraded to shape-shifting.

Assuming the position or body of Robin Green fellow, where the spirit of green dawn had drawn wings out his soul and hooves on his feet and horns on his head.

Flying around on his newly grown bat wings looking for the Blood Sword.

To be fair, it does say that the Earth Gooddess sent Slaine into the the body of Robin Goodfellow assuming this legendary fellow's shape-shifting ability when he time traveled into this place.

So, I guess this doesn't nessasarily have any direct connection his warping ability after all. I just thought idea of Slaine flying without a Drogon mount just alittle more omnipotent than usual. Abit unbalanced even.

More on Robin Good Fellow. I know in real history and myth he's goblin/ like character. Sort of like Puck, but in this story he is also supposed to be Robin of Sherwoord forest.
