New to call ot arms, but starting with ISA fleet.
Would love some pointers and answers to a few questions, thanks

Skin dancing: overall is it a good thing or bad?

Which ships are best at it for results? (blue star, whitestar, WS2 and WSF)

Can you do specials when skin dancing,ie CAF

Skin dancing is not a Special Action so unless the Skin Dancing rules say so you can do SAs whilst doing Skin Dancing.

As for the ships you can do it with, according to SFOS only Nials and WS, so no Blue Stars and WS FIghters can do it, that might change with 2E.

I'm away from my books for a week or I'd give you a more in depth answer.

Don't know about how useful it is as a tactic, but I pulled it off against a EA Nova (I think) with a WS and just did some cruel things to it. Makes a nice maneuver if you can pull it off in the event the opponent sets it up so your WSs can't fly past in the patented WS hit and run attack. "I'll just fly so close to you you can't hit me but I'm lighting you up". :)

I agree with phoenixhawk, Dennbok and I tested out the Bluestars against the Myrmidons, five on five. Once he remembered to skindance with the Bluestars it was rather brutal... The only time I could shoot them was when they had trashed one of my ships :(

Generally it's a bit risky [50% of 'accidental ram' with standard ISA CQ] but it's very effective against ships with Interceptors, and fleets without many Precise weapons. I wonder if Abbai shields will work against skindancers in 2E?

best one is a sheriden led squadron skindancing :D and if the squadron comes out of a JP so they dont have to manouvre to get on target you can even have all but the one creating the JP using CAF.
