Size of players' fleets - curious

If people would not mind sharing, I'd like to get a feel for how many ACTA/B5 space ship minis people have.

I'd like to gauge my own collection against those numbers - see if I am just a poor wannabe, right around the average player, or way over the top and I just need to stop buying the little things!

I have (approx):
243 ACTA-scale put together, painted or waiting to be painted
181 Fleet Action-scale - same stage as above
900 Fleet Action-scale fighters sitting around in little baggies

Plus around 20 more ACTA-scale still in their boxes, 30 recently sold, about 80 more Fleet Action-scale on bases and undercoated, probably to be sold.

So at one recent point in time, a total of:
ACTA = 293
FA = 261
FA fighters = 900

Do I need a 10-step program? :?

Man, and I thought I was crazy...You win!

I prob. have about 100-150 ActA with fighters out the Kazoo.
I bet I'm low though...compared to all the Euro/Ukers who've been playing a lot longer.

Comes from picking up gaming systems that then go away and no one else in the gaming community has any of the pieces. I have to buy fleets/armies for all sides.

Same thing happened with Space Marine Epic. In my original group we each had one (different) army. Then, we all graduated and moved away. I moved back years later and Epic was gone. To teach/get people to play at my LFGS I had to provide all the armies (thank you ebay, I think...)

And I am really just curious to see what people have collected...I'm not trying to boast about my collection (numbers aren't much of a boast if the figs aren't painted...and I've seen a lot of incredible painting from several of the group here. My painting does not even come close)

I don't have any of the large scale ships anymore, all mine are fleet action scale, but I've got about 9-10 different fleets, EA, Centauri, Narn, Minbari, Vorlon, Shadow, Drazi, Dilgar, Brakiri and a few ISA. Not sure how many ships I've got, but it's around 50-60 for the EA, Cent and Narn, 30ish for the others, plus tons of fighters. I guess it's probably over 300, and about 50/50 painted!

Feel your pain about having to collect stuff so others can play...thats how I ended up with all mine. Hoping to get people to play, I bought all the races too.
That's probably why I also have every race from the 1st MonPoc, 3.5 races of Vor, almost 5 races of Void/UW and every race of SST.

beats me - I only have about the same as you - but only a few fighters as I use counters.

Yes Im in the same basket as most of you, I have to buy enough not only for myself but for anyone else if I plan on actually playing it.

I have all 5 Noble Armada fleets, and am Planning on collecting all the others or at least their starters. Plus there are a number of other miniature games I'm interested in so there is more money as well.

But its alright, I can afford it, after all Warhammer 40k has my love but it isn't getting any more of my money :) Now I can afford all kinds of things!

About 50 ACTA scale capital ships.
8 fighters which I rarely use.
And the "Sky Full of Stars" counter set, which supplies most of my fighters.

The capital ships can provide a few modest fleets for myself and an opponent, otherwise the counter set is easier to transport. :) The only fighters I have are those from the Shadows boxed set, which don't look much like "real" Shadow fighters. So I use counters, either from the "Sky Full of Stars" set or printed at home, for all fighters including Shadows.

'Round about the 50 mark too, plus enough fighters to fill all their hangars at the same time, spread over 3 fleets with some odds & sods.
Used to have about 80 more, but they've been sold off to pay for other gaming paraphernalia.

Never got into Noble Armada, but I'm likely to pick up at least a small number of the Star Fleet ships (famous last words, just ask the OP :)).

Same boat here as many, had to buy for myself and anyone else that wants to play.

FA Ships: 362
FA Fighters: 1224

All of this comes across all FA Scale races officially available with the exception of Pakmara, Shadows, and Vorlons.

Seems many of us are in the same boat having to supply ships for all (or is that our excuse?)

ACTA - 158
FA - 3 (Corvans)

Really short on fighters though.

You know you've probably got about £5,000 worth of stuff there!!!

It is worse than that...some of the ships (like the marathon) went for insane prices on ebay. I might have to sell my blue stars to pay off my CC bill! :lol:

Looking up in my records:
Marathon = $46 (not as bad as I remembered)
G'Vrahn = $72
Shadow Hunter = $54
White Star box = $83
Nemesis = $64
Avioki = $54

Those were the worse prices I paid. Right after those, I happened to check Noble Knight Games and they had just put up for sale an entire game shop wall's worth of ACtA ships, which I promptly grabbed in one gigantic order (paid like $27 ea. for two G'Vrahn, $14 for a Shadow Hunter, $18 for an Avioki, Victory for $30, Cmd Omega for $20, two Bluestar packs for $18 ea...etc.)

Wow. all high prices. At least you got some good deals later. Buying B5 minis is indeed very addictive, got a feeling it will be the same with ST CTA for me anyway.
