Simple questions to Mongoose

Thanks for the reply Matt. That's great news about the counters.
I know the rest of you are going to hate me but the death of minis could be the best thing that happened to me, now I'll get some really good counters out of it, lol.

As for the counters I'll second the idea for counters based on the size of the ship not PL. Though I'm sure it will have to be relative size with some fudging, if it was really to scale the posiedon would be a foot in diameter while the white star is 1 inch. But just as long as small ships are on smaller bases that would be cool. Perhaps 3-5 different sizes plus the fighter would be good. I think images of the minis from above would definitely be the way to go, it should be easy to do and would look awesome. Whatever image is used I think full colour is a must. Some nicer cardstock would also be nice. However the cardstock may affect prices, I don't know by how much so that could be a consideration, but I think people would be willing to pay more, even double the old prices especially now that minis are no longer available. One option is to produce 2 counter sets, one on the old style counter stock and a deluxe set printed on thicker card counters or even plastic for those that really want them.

Any counters would be great though so thanks matt.

What I'd really like to see is counters that are sized proportionally to the ships that they are supposed to represent. I don't want it based on priority level. Counters based on the size of the ship would give a better feel during play.

That'll make playing a Victory or Babylon 5 interesting.

If you hade vaguely scaled counters, it would also open up the possibility of boresighting the counter and not just the centre. To keep the rules backwards compatible with the models and previous counters, such a move would have to be limited to house rules, but it could be interesting for if a gaming group is all using scaled counters...

Bearing in mind of course that the size of the models/counters is about 1000-10000 times larger than they would be for the size of the battlefield. This makes the size of the counter kind of redundant for boresighting terms...

i use my revel babylon 5 as the scale is a lot better

Actually, it might make the Omicron and Vorlon more likely; if all it requires is a top down .jpg drawing rather than a miniature to put it into the game......
