Silly question about Book 5 (minor spoiler)

As I understand it, Book 5 is actually 2 adventures in 1, and therefore you would gain the last Kai skill (assuming you have completed bks 1-3) when you get to section 200 and go to section 201.


IS that the correct understanding of what is supposed to happen?

No, though it's been advertised as "two adventures in one", for gameplay purposes it's only one adventure.

I used to try that trick when I was eleven but no, there is no mid-adventure extra skill.

It seems very odd for it to be "2 adventures in 1" when it doesnt need to be.

Also, it makes a lot sense that it was 2 adventures since the player would have the full set of skills by the end of the book, and then in a position to start the MagnaKai adventures having learnt those skills from the "Book" as it were.

I do appreciate both of you answering, I was hoping the author or one of his representatives here could chime in tho.

That is very unlikely. I understand what you are saying but there is no training time between the two adventure parts for Lone Wolf to learn a new Discipline but if you like to play it this way, why not? Book 12 (end of Magnakai adventures) has only one part so even if you do this for book 5 you can't for book 12 or even 20. I'm not sure why the book is split into two like you say, perhaps it was an experiment of Joe's that didn't get repeated, perhaps he split it in two to help him write it and never got around to changing it.
Looking at the New Order Books (21+) there will be 11 adventures, with four initial GM Disciplines and only 15 needed to become a Supreme Master; it looks as if the final book will give you the opportunity to play as a Supreme Master, albeit with one discipline missing.

I always felt that at the end of book 11 you should be given a bonus Discipline - I mean Lone Wolf has all the Lorestones now, thus making him a Grand Master, yet he doesn't have all the Disciplines?

Never played it that way mind but one of these days I think I shall - just because! lol
