Signs and Portents

Ohhh tough for you,
it will be hard to follow the rugby world cup live ;)
Unless you're a true "No-sleep" fan of course :D

Hoping we can get S&P this afternoon, fingers crossed.
And touching my head bone ... what .. I'm not a minbo .. you sure ?

Don't worry, I think I can set the alarm clock for the All Blacks vs France games

Now, come on guys. How many games comapnies do you know that are open on a Saturday?

Oh, hang on. . . what's this. . .

That's good thanks :D:D now let's go reading.

Ps: good luck for the clock ... and the game, you'll need it ;D:D

BUM!!! I just hit the little red cross icon instead of the green icon with the line at the bottom!!! Now I have to start again.

The Critical tables have changed, and there are no longer any soft options that will just do damage and crew hits but leave your ship in fighting trim. When you take a critical hit now, you know it is going to hurt.

Do I read this right? I thought that such crits as d6 dmg and d6 or simply all weapons gone and so on would be nerfed and not made even worse.
Our games have been decided by criticals until now, not much real tactic but rather who rolled better on the critical chart.

Could perhaps someone with a 2nd ed. rule book comment about that?

I am just hoping they televise the games in Germany. I am kicking myself that the US makes it, draws England and South Africa in the group round and I live within travel distance to make the games but HAVE NO TIME TO GO!!! Not to mention the lack of cash!
Frustration mounts. At least I have the new S&P.

They have removed the All weapons destroyed (now just one arc maximum ) the idea is I think that criticals are still very nasty but if you survive, you can fire back. Most criticals are about the same - but now traits can also be lost. Also the All hands to Deck order is is much better now (any number in a round with a +2 Crits) :) Any help?

I just read the section on the Gaim and the battle report and I must say regarding the new fleet, yes please!
The Gaim remind me a lot of a fleet from another space combat game noted for being overly complex. Lots of fightery goodness in both.
Can't wait to give them a try. Gaim and Dilgar... two divine winds breaking loose.

While the weapon criticals are not able to take out all of a ship's guns, and complete loss of movement is unlikely, crew criticals no longer have no additional effects.
