Should I get The Klendathu Invasion book?

Well, title says it all, doesn't it?

I'm thinking about wheter I should resume SST, and if so, I'll be going with LAMI and Bugs.

For the LAMI I need the Klendathu Invasion book, and I figure the campaign could be used to introduce new players.

But, those of you who own the book or just have an oppinion; should I go with it?

Actually, if you want to play LAMI before EVO you don't have much choice...

Well, at least until EVO is out ypu need the book for the rules on Invasion Companies. So, if you have cash to spare go for it, the background and campaign rules are nice. But if you only care about the LAMI rules and have a low budget, (and you are not overly concerned by the quality of BF:EVO) wait for SST:EVO (the LAMI will be in the first batch of minis if I remember well).

If You want LAMIs it's the only choice. Plus the campaign is very simple, yet at the same time catches attention, so it's quite a good way to attract people to the game.

I got it recently and it's a good read. the description of the Klendathu drop is very cool, the LAMI are a fun force to take and the campaign is a lot of fun.

The book is great - even if the modelling tips are for the PLASTICS ROFL.

But yeah, background and stuff and the images its fantastic - the stranded MI brings a tear to my eye every time...

I never regretted my purchase.

Buy it.. a good campaignbook is always worth it

Btw, how fixed is the campaign on LAMI,, I've been thinking of getting it, but ia have Zero interest in painting more flak jacket infantry,, (a 10K guardarmy can do that to ya ;) ) so if it's flexible enough to use regular MI i think i'm gonna go for it:)

Played the campaign with mixed force (LAMIs, CAPs, Pathfinders and Exos) and it works fine, there's no real restriction as to what force can or cannot be used, scenarios are extremely flexible for it. Guess with a minimum of polishing they can even represent any planetary invasion (ie. Skinnies vs. MI)

Btw one might think after painting 10k IG horde one gets hooked on painting swarms of infantry ;)

picking it up in my next shoppingspree then:)

Not only IG, Groundpounder CSM and orkz aswell.. pheeew
Trying to keep the armies more managable nowadays:)

dunno about a lot..
lots of tanks, one banblade and a warhound titan aswell, (the titan is scratchbuilt tho:) )
some of it..it's missing a few tanks and a platoon or two of men;)

I prefer cadians and steel legionaires all the way...

So what does this all have to do with LAMI rules anyways, besides being cheap cannon fodder

Hi guys,

If you will take a biased opinion. . .

The Klendathu Invasion is the SST supplement I am most proud of. It has a solid campaign, the LAMI (of course), but also a lot of background buried in the text that effectively advances the SST timeline and brings everything up to date with the film. You have the end of the Road to Victory, and the start of the 'real' War of the Species.

You'll see more advances on the timeline in SST Evo, and we'll be previewing it in S&P soon. . .

GIR, if you ever played against the IG you'd know, Guardsmen=cannon fooder!

As for the book, I think I'll get it soon, as my economy got a small boost just the other day!

Great to hear Matt's oppinion on the whole thing as well!

Now that's something I've been waiting for - another book as packed with fluff as the Klendathu ^^
