Shield Wall

I'm sure I'm not the only big fan of the Saxon Chronicles, but here is my interpretation of using a shield wall.

New CM: Shield Wall (defensive) When flanked by a shield-using ally, this CM gives your ally an attack at the cost of 1 of his CAs on your foe.

I would probably treat a Shield Wall like fighting behind a regular wall. Any Hit Location struck that is protected by the Shield Wall hits the Shield instead. Meaning you would either have to get lucky on the Hit Location roll or use the Choose Location CM to strike someone in a Shield Wall formation.

That and the inability to effectively Flank someone in Shield Wall formation should be enough of an advantage for using the tactic.

I allow anyone in a shieldwall to have automatic cover to their chest, left arm and either their head or abdomen when defending from missiles. If they are purely defending then the right arm can be covered as well.
