Sharlin in an Asteroid field

From the sounds of it Katadders dog could kick your dog's ass though Taran ;)

Anyway enough with the posturing and one-upping, you sound like a bunch of kindergarteners. Im telling

Yeah, his dog probably could. Room requirements kept me to the cute and cuddly size...
You have a chihuahua? ;)

thats past cute and cuddly and right into vermin infestation.
Neighbor of mine had a Pomeranian named 'Princess'. Quite possibly the most vicious "dog" I've ever come across. She and I did not get along well as I viewed my backyard and my territory and didn't need the incessant growling/barking. I think that's the demarcation for vermin.

Semantic arguments (and attempts to use language as a club, rather than a communication tool) aside, I have a comment about the Sharlin in the Asteroid field.

Remember the Sharlin? This is a Thread about the Sharlin in the Asteroid field... (Any Arlo Gunthrie fans out there?)

I suppose it would depend on how the Asteroid field is modelled, given that Stellar debris blocks line of sight. The Sharlin could be unable to fire back while it sits in the field, and what gaps remain could be manoeuvred around easily enough with pre-measuring and planning. And given that it would need to All Stop! each turn to keep from leaving the Asteroid field, this could just as likely Nerf the Sharlin as much as its attacker.

Or, it might not.

I would advise you all to remember this possibility when modelling/mapping your Asteroid Fields - especially when playing the Minbari.

You bet. I can't stand Chihuahuas...

No, I got the largest dog that would fit in my apartment: a Keeshond. I have 2 of them now. Great watch dogs. Worthless guard dogs. They love to be held and petted. Kind of annoying sometimes...

stella debris blocks LOS if you are both outside of it. if the sharlin is in the asteroid field it can see out quite happily.
one other thing with 2e - you only make a CQ check for entering the field not for moving around inside it or leaving (odd but thats what it says in the rules) so must be like the eye of the storm, nothing on the inside ;)

WHAT! WHAT! WHAT!? Have I been THAT bad about reading the rules?? You seriously only make the check going in?

Yes, that's the same as 1e though.
I don't have my books with me but I recall that 1E set it up that when you moved in a field you made the check and if you failed it the ship sustained an attack based on the number of inches or parts there of that the ship moved.

... so you can come screaming at an Asteroid Field and stop just inside to only sustain a maximum 1AD attack, then continue screaming along where ever you please?
I sense the House Rules getting longer.

No, if you scream upto and into the Asteroid field, you take the AD depending on how many inches you have moved that turn (irrespective of how many of those inches were actually within the Asteroid field).

But tanking around once you are in it is safe. None of them giant rocks are going to think you're invading.
