shadow fighter and dogfight

Hello!

We got little quarrel here about Shadow Fighter, shield and dogfight….

Question:
What happens when Shadow Fighter loses dogfight?
a. It is destroyed
b. shiled absorbs hit and fighter is intact.

IMO should be a, but…
If I’m correct in dogfight section there is no word about damage during dogfight. Only “losing fighter is removed”.

The Dogfight system is designed to include all factors of the fighters from weapons to maneuverability to other advanced technology like Shields and Stealth. It's all condensed down into a single roll to quickly sort out fighter flight combat. That's why Dodge, Shields, Stealth, etc do not count for Dogfights.

yeah cos they would be rubbish without their shields in a dogfight

The game occasionally gives up too much in the quest for quick.

There is a slight flaw in the logic used though as the dogfight score does not take into account anti-fighter (intrinsic or loaned), so clearly a precedent for separating out tech that should be different.

Although anti-fighter doesn't get used in the attack phase. It gets used in the movement phase instead.
In the case of dogfights though, AF operates in the corners of reality between when a flight is moving and when it makes contact (immediately initiating the dogfight). Not in it's usual time after the end of fighter movement before the start of fighter firing.
