Greetings,
I have a few questions regarding the sector house presented in the main rulebook and judge's handbook.
1) where's sector control? The command room where street judges are coordinated and reinforcements are distributed from? I assume it's somewhere within the four top levels labelled "command"?
Speaking of Control, who works there? Can an ordinary street judge end up in control for a shift, or are the control consoles staffed by support judges, especially trained for this?
2) How come personnel and accounting have a whopping three floors each!? Do they have a huge playland there, for relieving stress, a personal counsellor for each street judge, as well as every accountant in the city?
I get this funny picture in my head of each street judge "blessed" with a personal accountant and HR person, acting more or less like the mini-angel and mini-devil on their shoulders frequently seen I'm cartoons
3) where can ordinary street judges find workspace for when they need to fill in reports, or conduct investigations? There are the two watch rooms on the bottom floor, but they'd quickly get bogged down if every off-duty judge comes in at once to fill in reports regarding their
activities... A small personal workspace for every judge within the dorms could work, I guess... And with increased computerization there would be less need for everyone to have a huge desk covered with papers, files and stuff.
4) Sleeping facilities. Is it assumed that many judges live outside of the sector house? Because otherwise it must get really crowded if each of the ten dorm floors has nine rooms, housing 4-6 judges each, and there are almost 700 judges stationed in the building, excluding personnel/accountants! Sharing bunks is one way to solve it, but with irregular work hours and extra shifts... I know I wouldn't be happy if I've just worked for 16+ hours, get back to my room, and my "bunk-mate" is already sleeping there... Sleep-machine and extra shift, here I come?
5) the adventure Apocalypse dawn mentions a number of support judges stationed at that sector house. I imagine they are the ones manning Control, the lobby, and generally taking care of everything within the building. Should these be included in the "500 street judge" number from the rulebook, or are they in addition to those? Or can I assume that house 13 doesn't have dedicated support staff, and instead every street judge sometimes gets an interior work shift?
6) if a judge needs to interrogate someone, or get a witness statement, where can they go except the interrogation cubes? For someone that's not a prime suspect the cubes seem a bit harsh.... Use a free corner of the watch room, a table in the cafeteria, borrow an office from personnel, or use an entire conference room?
