Scout errata? SX Frontiersman...

Blustar

Mongoose
Why does Evade/2 only have a rating of 10? Page 54 the errata says it should be 15.

Why is Jump Control/2 free and Fire Control/2 should 4 (not 2) and Evade/2 should be 2 (not 1).

Also a really can't make heads or tales of the modular systems but thats for a different thread.

thanks

And s it Jump 4, as it says in the description, and the Advantages, or jump 2 as indicated by a type B JDrive in a 150t hull, and only 30 tons of jump fuel?

2 consecutive jump 2 = J4 range.

The hull always has a thirty ton/J2 fuel load. The extra fuel for a second jump is in the modules.

The basic hull stats does not include modules. One then adds modules to match need. Some will have extra fuel, some won't. If it doesn't have extra, the ship cannot jump twice without refueling.

Many of the recon versions benefit from the ability to jump in and out of a system without having to refuel. Others use the space for other things like big honkin weapon mounts.

Hope that helps......

Why are the ratings for the computer incorrect?

How about the prices?

I'm just wondering if the error is on my side or if it's errata.

thanks

Can't help ya there. Anyone ? Bueller ?

My guess is that the design is wrong. The prices in the book are what should be used (don't forget to account for TL differences!).

Unfortunately, many of the designs have minor glitches like these. If the size/cost shown doesn't match the book, after accounting for TL differences, then assume the design is wrong and adjust accordingly.

Where are the rules for adjusting for tech level differences? Is there a formula or do yo just eyeball it?

thanks

As the designer, I'd like to say this about that : I don't have either the designs or the rules in front of me to confirm/deny this one, but........it's entirely possible its a screwup on my part.
Who knows. I may have used an earlier version of the rules when I converted it from CT/MT/T4 stats, or made a mistake ,or mistyped it; even the final editing and last minute changes may have slipped up....anything. If it's contradicting the rules, go with the Book, not the design. On the plus side, software doesn't effect displacement as long as the computer can run it, so the design works fine with changes.

Seriously. Errors happen. Hey, at least the tonnage adds up, hey ?
