Ah, the anticipated San Diego tourney - I hope to be there. Are there any other King of the Jump Gate veterans planning to attend?

let me see what kind of schedule AMTRAK has...I ought to be able to ride there for free by turning in some "rail points"...

I checked it out earlier today, I could manage to get down there in time for the tournament, but I'd have to leave work around noon because of the amtrak bus schedules through marysville. There's even a Pacific Surfliner stop in "old town". however, getting back doesn't look good, I can't seem to make the schedules jive...I'll keep trying.

well, looks like it might be possible...there's no good time to use the old town station though - too bad, looks like its only a few blocks from the store. Unfortunately, amtrak doesn't use it at useful times for me. The best option would have me leaving marysville at about 5pm and arriving in San Diego (at the other station, about 3 miles away) about 535am. Then for the return, I'd need to make it back to the san diego station for the last bus at 10pm, for a 2pm sunday arrival back in marysville.

I don't see the tournament running longer than 7 pm, 8 at the very latest. The downtown Amtrak station is connected to Old Town by the San Diego Trolley, our light rail system, the trolley stops both right there at Amtrak and 2 blocks from the store (in Old Town). It takes 10 minutes to ride the trolley from the Amtrak to Old Town, it runs til about 1 am.

As far as Rabid Child's point of origin, I have no idea.

Where did Rabid Child and friend come in from?

We drove down from Ashland, OR. Sorry, I don't think we'll be making a 12 hour drive to San Diego, as much as I'd like to. On top of that we're in the process of moving 5 hours north to Portland. I'm sure you will all miss my ShadowCheese!

RC, I might be up your way in November. I have family in Oregon City & Portland Area that I usualy visit over thanksgiving.

OK, I'm going to try and make travel arrangements tonight or tomorrow; so barring a fully booked train, count me in for this one.
