S&P article and proxy models.

Now that you have stated that there will be regular articles encouraging players to use other models from different companies, does this mean these non-official models will be allowed in official mongoose tournaments?

Are you saying that I can use my Forces of Valour aircraft and my Eureaka miniatures USMC infantry models IN an offical Mongoose event held INSIDE the Mongoose main office building??

Sort of follow up here:

I know theres problems with the chopters and that they're put on hold at the moment which is good if it ensures that the final will be great. But is Battlefield Evolution put on hold as hole? Why not skip the helicopters and release other stuff that works with you and would more or less "complete" the factions (such as command unit for USMC) and so on?

I think as long as they continue to release new Unit cards and people play the game BF EVO will continue to exist. It's rules that keep a tabletop wargame alive.

I've purchased quite a bit of FOV/Dragon Armour and am happy to see MGP will be publishing data cards for them. For instance, I have a FOV T-72 that will get a lot of use since the Zulfiqar won't be out for who knows how long.

THIS will be the place to be IMO if you want to continue the game. There is already tons of unit cards made and more to come. See the Call to arms article.

just a teaser... you can find cards for:

By the card making machine that is Pietia

Bundeswehr (German Armed forces

Extra units for the MEA, recosted and extra PLA units

The Polish Army

Russian Army:

US Army

More USMC

Isrealli Defence Force

and apparently more on the way :D

and of course there's the Australian Defence Force list my me... (which was emailed to MGP... could i please get a reply :( )

Since official tourneys are done by MP at conventions your guess is as good as mine. But, what does it matter?

Tourneys are a lousy way to promote a game system. This game will make it on it's own merits. Tourneys in my opinion limits the system, not make it better. :x

Well it was just out of pure curioisity since big companies like Games Workshop would never in a million years let anyone anywhere use non-official game models. Hell, they probably won't acknowledge the existence of other tabletop wargames to customers. :D

It is currently in the submissions pile.

So just out of curiousity, do you guys think Mongoose will allow us to use these models in official events?

POtentially, yes - no decision has been made on this yet, and a lot of it will depend on the wishes of you chaps.

If any of you are after proxy models in around the right scale then I can recommend (and also sell) the range of 28mm figures from The Assault Group.
Various units of US Marines, Delta force, British and SAS.

Hope that's helpful.

Unfortunately TAG figures are out of scale and look freakish, huge heads and hands and completely different proportions, next to BFEvo figures.

I remember for SST there were proxies allowed in tournies, but only for models that Mongoose hadn't produced yet. I remember fighting a cardboard tac fighter and slingshot.

No way in hell will TAG minis work with BFE models made by MP. BUT, they have a weapon line that can be used to add weapons to the existing range that WILL work.

The ONLY range of foot miniatures that are the same scale as MP's models are Eureka's Kriegspiel line of soldiers.

Wait, you're saying that TAG guns won't look gigantic when used on an MP sized miniature?

I bought some TAG AT-4s, Dragon ATGMs and RPG-7s. They are sized well for use with MGP's minis. BTW, shipping was free from the UK to the US and they arrived in California in only five days!
