S&P 48 LAV ???

Mongoose
The AA LAV is cool but where are the stats for the regular ol' frontline LAV ? Could you possibily [ pretty please ] throw an official one up here on the forum or PM for the rules lawyers some of us MUST play with ?

if you notice at the bottom of that page, it says to get a LAV model with a removable turret, since they will probably be releasing more versions in the future. I did think it odd that they release an AA vehicle before giving them the original IFV version...

Hi guys,

To be fair, we could fill several issues with new unit cards, but there are other games to support as well!

We included the AA variant, as it was felt the USMC could use some serious air defences with the cards for aircraft appearing. But yes, it certainly opens the doors for other fits.

While we are on the subject, actually, what other unit cards would you chaps like to see while we wait for BF Evo to return? We like to have 'themed' sets - so, over to you chaps!

its a good bet somone will scream for Australians and swedes ; )

Probably a long shot but... could you possibly give us unit cards for an entirely new army like sayy... THE U.S. ARMY??? Please!

If not, now that you've given us a not so futuristic vehicle like the Humvee, I think it would'nt hurt if you let us use Blackhawk helicopters.

Not to be overly greedy with my USMC, but how about a command squad? Maybe a Bradley or a anti-tank team?

USMC does not use the Bradley.

True. But the other 2 Tie mentions are a SERIOUS need! Let's make sure we don't focus on the one which shouldn't be, but the 2 which should.

Consider me seconding the suggestion for Command and AT for the USMC.

AA for EFTF and PLA would be a good idea.

Armor and government troops for MEA.

Aircraft for all 4 factions.

I know the Marines don't use bradley's, but they did release the USAF F-117. If Air Force stuff is out there, army could come too. It's alot easier to find bradleys than EFV's right now...

Good point, but then they SHOULD introduce the US ARMY faction with the Bradley.

Well since the Marines got a boost I'd say help finish them off for awhile next month . Command, AT team , 240 MG teams, M-32 GL men. Some more armament variants for the Shadow,LAV,Hunnwv etc... Then move to the PLA.

I make this simple as not to get the post removed. I don't want any stat cards from this company. Most are too far fetched for my taste.

Case in point.

HMMVW is a armored vehicle that can be targeted easier than a civilian pickup truck....

A LAV, that has the kill rating of a top of the line PLA MBT.

A air transport that can carry more vehicles than it can ever do in real life, even if there was a future version of it. Not to mention the weapons systems!!!!

'nuff said....

That is a fair enough point. However, I get the feeling that there is something about BF Evo that has grabbed your imagination, but there a misfire has occured somewhere - the game is squarely aimed at one thing, while you are really looking for another.

Hyper-realism has never been our guiding policy in our games - our aim is to get players around a table, laughing and joking as they play. Having a good time. The best example of this approach is probably Victory at Sea, if you have ever seen it.

The Realism count on our games probably runs somewhere in the 75-80% range, with the remainder traded off for speed, fun and what works on an average table with an average group (not saying _any_ group that plays Mongoose games is average, of course :)).

And I am not saying you cannot have fun with the Realism count jacked up to 95% plus. But that is not what you will find here. I just think that if the Evo rules are your thing, you might be better served with units on Evocommand, rather than getting wound up by what we are doing :)

So Matt, can we expect unit cards for an entirely new faction anytime soon? I mean, before actual MGP models for them comes out?

Not likely while there are still many things we can do with the existing factions.

Fair enough. So can we expect German and French EFTF next? Anymore stuff for the Brits like Paras and Gurkhas? They should at least get land rovers now that the USMC has Humvees.

Matt, your right, not just right, but completely right. I have been wound up, because I expected something more true to life. After all the game at first seemed to be advertised as ultra modern in the near future. So I expected something closer to the factual weapons systems of today, and the very near tomorrow. My bad.

Your right, I will be using Evo cards. It just irked me, that I thought the game would have been better served if it had took a more factual stance. That way you would have gain the modern miniature gamer community, instead of a small faction of the sci-fi community.

I promise not to be so hard on you guys, nor expect what I originally hoped for. That said, looking forward to more vehicles, to use Evo stats with, so get the kinks out and make 'em!! I'll buy 'em.
:D :D
