S&P 46...

seriously, what's stopping ppl from using the british card for an american apache??

oh and i absolutely love mongoose for this, i already had an quite big collection of moderns and i really appreciate this show of support for those of us that only want rules=)

Thanks:)

Totally agree! I already ordered my Apache for my Marines.

okay, I am all about units we can use... but like most stuff I have seen released by the big dogs at mongoose, this seems very shortsighted. Now, they do plan on releasing more units each month, and as these are third party models, nothing is stopping the US players from using the apache, nor are the cards "official".

TOS is right about the basic rules - they were great. The advanced rulebook wasn't thought out too well, didn't address some pretty obvious concerns that needed clarified, and failed to provide much actual substance. So we get unit cards.

IMO, I would like to see the unit cards for the units about to be released in S+P, as opposed to units that got pulled from wherever. But that is just me. I know a lot of people want to play specific factions or units.

For everyone complaining about unit costs: have you seriously had sufficient opportunity to play with them? I have a hard time believing anybody can make an educated opinion two days after the cards are released.

i was thinking that, some of these exspensive helis are devistating , but a unit or 2 of infantry can take one down with some lucky fire. its a balancing act i spose.

Have to agree with you there. Give these things a try before you get too critical of them. For example, the Apache is nasty but to be able to use the Brimstone missiles, it has to make itself quite vulnerable. No shooting the turn before it fires them, and it must move slow enough that it can be fit by anyone with a gun for almost two full turns. A big enough MEA squad even has a chance to take it out before it lets loose with its missiles.

I think it's a good idea but i'm also wondering what the motivation is for it. My paranoia has kicked in and i'm worried that they're relasing cards for units they have no plans to do mini's for which means having to track down (and most likely assemble) 3rd party stuff that won't match the scale. Also mean painting, which was a key to my buy in. Is this just to keep us busy or a sign?

Good to know, i live in fear of a sudden announcement as per SST V1. Something like We're not doing this anymore but we'll give you the cards and you buy 3rd party 1/72 scale stuff and stuff in S&P. I'm really enjoying this game and when the PLA's tank busting issues are solved i'll be able to play alot more games :)

Reading these posts, I've got a couple of questions:

1 - Mongoose is working on a US Army Faction for BFE?

2 - They're putting out an Apache AH-64D as well as the Super Cobra?

3 - Where's the love?

4 - Has MGP thought about Airborne troops for USMC? (I know, it's not one of their major functions - but it would still be cool. Maybe they could put it in with the US Army faction?)

5 - When does the USMC command section come out? What can it do? Calls for Fire maybe?

That's it. Catch ya'll on the flip flop.

1)At least that is the rumor - US Army, and the Russians.

2)rumor is the apache was scrapped due to its devastating nature, and for the brits, and the supercobra is scheduled out the end of july, or august, depending on whenever the evil mongoose imps that control release dates give them to me.

3) Love is wherever you might look for it, except at the PLA.

4) I know they have aerial deployment rules, so who knows!

5)USMC command section isn't scheduled yet, but I bet it will be similar to the brit command section, and rumored to come packaged with the talon swords. I am hoping for 3 sword teams and a command section, but that is probably hoping too much - but if i get another crappy 6 model set for 24.95, I will be a little more than pissy (unless the talons treads are made of pure gold)

a robot... can be used to drag wounded troops out of harms way, or outfitted with a weapon. Talon and Sword are two differing models IIRC one being tested for the Army, and another for the Marines. Hiro would know more.

I'd like to see MGP gain a lic. for Terminator vs. Mankind games (yet more technicals, lol). This way, you could explain that BF:Evo is where the wounded human soldiers limp towards the reteival robots and BFE: Terminator is where the wounded humans limp away from the robots.

Humorous as it sounds, enough with all the licenses. I mean really now, they need to focus on the games that they are supposed to be putting out, not looking at other shiny things.

Sorry, but I am agitated at the release dates slipping.

Look at my last comment as a means to an end...

Ditto.

and if its to have clear windows on the copter il be double cheesed of, if the do come clear i will paint them black so just do them as per prototypes please.

Fellas, I don't ever get too involved with these sorta threads.

I enjoy playing the game using the basic rules and with the models me and my buddy have.

We both have no complaints with the game and really enjoy it, so i've had no reason to come on here and critisise it.

The bottom line is this...the cards, much like the ones in the previous issue are optional and you do not have to use them if you don't want to.

They are as optional as say Hiro or Pieta's cards. They are there to expand your options for play if you want them. They are optional,s o if you don't like them, it doesn't matter.

It's a game guys. A game that is still very much in its teething phase. I'm pretty sure when 40k or WHFB started out their were glitches and things to iron out (hell, there still are!).

Enjoy it, take what you want from it, but don't bitch about it when MGP tries to help support it by publishing, game and unit varients in S & P's.

I don't mean to upset or narc anyone off, but it annoyed me that MGP are getting heat for giving those who asked for it what they asked for and trying to support their game, something that I woulda thought dhould be applauded, given its low profile!

Rant over...
