RQ2 PDF up on drivethru

Of course this is posted on the Mongoose home page, but just in case anyone links directly to the forums...

It's a nice PDF, but lacks bookmarks! Any chance we can get the PDF updated with bookmarks? It helps (a lot) when indexing and searching during the game (yes, I use my netbook as my chief GM tool).

Thank you. That's disappointing -- I knew it was a long shot, but Mongoose waited before making the pdf available, so I hoped!

I'll push this off a bit more until I really need it, in the hopes that an updated pdf becomes available.

This is one thing that Mongoose are absolutely crap at doing and it really reduces the utility of PDFs for me.

Its just another reason why I won't be buying RQII

Funny you should mention that - Will has just handed me an RQII PDF, all fully bookmarked! You'll be getting an update a little later today. . .

Seriously???? Is this the first Mongoose product with book marks? Any chance of getting the back catalogue of PDFs book marked (RQI books) and Traveller? This would encourage me to buy them!

Well, we have been talking about that :)

All RQ2 products will be bookmarked, as will all subsequent Traveller books.

Given a little time, we will backtrack all current Traveller products with bookmarks too.

I hope this goes ahead, a book marked Traveller and Spinward Marches PDF would be excellent, I also hope a RuneQuest Deluxe PDF could get bookmarked too (and all the GLorantha books that are already out).

This is good news. I hope it's the start of Mongoose being more creative with their PDFs than they have been until now.

We are certainly looking at some new options!

That's great! It's enough extra nudge to get me to buy the pdf as well, and begin converting my campaign.

I just bought the RQII PDF. It was nice to see the bookmarks for chapters, but disappointing not to see the errata incorporated.

But I was really surprised that the cover has a different rune on it than the hardback. I thought Mongoose was using the runes to visually distinguish the different books.

Is there a chance that an update will be issued?

What rune does the pdf have? The hardcover has the Luck rune, it was changed to it right before going to print. Is the pdf still the Fate rune?

Weird--definitely my mistake. The rune is the correct one--all I can think to explain is either a) it was really late or b) I had a couple of windows up and mistook what I was seeing.

Or I guess c) both of the above. The front graphic rune in the pdf is the same as the printed book.

Any idea when the already released books will be added to Drivethrurpg?
I'm talking mainly about the Monster Coliseum and Deus Vult, but if you know about Necromantic Arts and Glorantha Second Age, that's good too :-)

I've got to echo others comments on this. I buy the occasional PDF, but rarely buy PDFs of things I've already bought printed because they rarely include indexes and errata. It is useful having a printed and a PDF copy of a core rulebook, but only if the PDF is updated and easily referenceable.

I'm not trying to tell Mongoose how to expend their publishing energies, I know these things don't come free, but there have been at least 2 occasions when I have decided against buying a Mongoose PDF, but if it had been indexed and updated I would have got it. IMHO it does make a difference, but whether it makes more than a dozen or so copies worth of difference in overall sales I have no idea.

They usually comes about month after printed version has been released.
