RQ Adventures - where is the book?

Is it because a lot (all?) was available in S+P? A fresh batch of adventures would certainly have been a winner, Gloranthan or general fantasy. Maybe too many settings to cover?

As I understood it, the adventures would be converted classics.

I know my wife, as a new GM, was looking forward to this book a lot. Is it likely the already done work on it will be released in S&P?

It is a shame to see the book cancelled and a worry to see so little RQ product upcoming. The only thing on the list is a 3rd party product.

On the plus side the new Signs & Portents does have 3 RQII adventures in it so there is stuff out there for people to use.

As to books, I'm not sure there NEEDS to be more sourcebooks for MRQ2.
For me I'll be getting the equipment manual, Monster Coliseum.
Then eventually Empires Necromantic Arts.
With a maybe as Vikings one day.

But as it stands, that's enough for me to get on with.

I would have LOVED to see the Adventures book and I hope more adventures will be released at some stage.

I WOULD like to see more Elric material though, the Elric cities book is a must have. Others like it and adventures for Elric would be good too.

A DM's guide would be nice...

What is a DM's Guide?
GM's Guide would be the RQ term, information for someone running a game. Encounters, monsters, tactics, rewards, treasure, how to design scenarios.

In D&D, the DM's Guide was always a bigger book than the Player's Handbook, but in RuneQuest, all the information has always been available to all players. After all, sometimes I run a game, sometimes I play. Knowing all the "secrets" shouldn't spoil my fun, so why have those secrets?

Well, I don't really think of it as secrets. I was thinking it could hold:

- Clarifications on rules, such as the results in our discussions for the charge rules. of course keeping in the open ended spirit of the game, but ideas on how to interpret the rules.
- Ideas and tricks to using and handling magic.
- Rewards. Elaborations on how to use all those things that are in Glorantha - Runes (and runetouched), HeroQuests, cult status etc. but also more mundane stuff.
- Perhaps additional spells or something similar.
- Generic ideas, tips&tricks etc for planning adventures, running sessions and so on.
- A large section on world building and using custom settings, with notes on the different settings of RQ2, what their styles are and what books you need for each.

I certainly found the lack of DM ressources intimidating when I started out with RQ.

If Mongoose don't write this book (which it doesn't seem like, and I really can't blame them with the current state of things), I will probably start this book as a contributor project this summer (because I am not nearly enough into RQ2 to write this all by myself, especially since I know nothing of Glorantha). Then we can atleast have a free PDF DM's Guide, (or Mongoose can sell it online - I don't mind).

Why not use the wiki? That's what it is for.
