I need a little advice as to what to buy for my 10 War Points

here is the list at 7 War points (divided by points) Crusade Era

Excalibur (2)

Warlock (1)

1 Omega
2 Delphi

1 Omega
1 Hyperion
1 Chronos
2 Hermes

1 Apollo
1 Hyperion
1 Chronos
2 Hermes

1 Marathon
1 Hyperion
2 Chronos

what should i add to this? My normal opponent plays ISA

Hi,

Personaly I would drop the Apollo against the ISA for either another Omega or a Marathon. For the remaining 3 points, a Poseidon, 2 Omegas and 4 Hyperions would be my choice.

I'd definitely favour Marathons over Omegas in this match up. The Marathon does not have the Lumbering trait and can make a second 45º turn over the Omega. Easier for lining up those boresights.

2 Chronos
2 Marathons
12 Mymidons
12 Patrol points worth of firebolts/Tbolts. Replace ship fighters with Firebolts, use leftover points for Thunderbolts/Auroras

Overall plan. Use the Warlocks, Posiedon, and Apollo strikes escorted by Chronos as the solid core of the fleet, with the Apollo Bombardments slightly behind and at an Oblique angle. Use the Marathons and Hyperions on the forward flanks, with Myrmidons and some Chronos to cover the rear.

Firebolts are your friends, use them wisely and they will account for damage out of all proportion to their cost. Fast enough to keep up with WS's, survivable, and ALL their weapons are AP, meaning they should score a fair number of hits on Hull 5 WS's. Use T-Bolts/Auroras to dogfighter WS Fighters and Nials, as they are more disposable.

While plain AD, Mymidons pack a lot of AD, and with 12 you easily use 2 or 3 ship squadrons. Not as fast as WS's though, so watch thier placement and manuever (still an ugly as sin model, sytrefoam peanuts make an accetable sub, and are almost as pretty).

Use standard missle with the Apollos and warlocks, WS's suffer when they get critted and the range might allow knocking out a few before the get in range. Alternatively, use HARM missle to torque with selected ships

Your Marathons and Hyperions are going to be the real hunters though, most all the rest of the fleet is there merely to support them and discourage WS's from getting in their rear arcs. Use them offensively, and offensively, to smack piddling little WS's all over the place.

When fighting ISA, CYA is the name of the game!

Hm if you don't wanna change your 7 pts war fleet
I would also suggest, that you put in:

1 Poseidon

1 Marathon
1 Hyperion
2 Chronos

1 Marathon
1 Hyperion
and either another
2 Chronos
Or
1 Chronos and
2 Hermes.

Furthermore, if the 7 War pts are arguable, I would
also suggest, that you take Marathons instead of Omegas.
They have a few dice less in the Broadsides (and 2 flights
less then Omegas), but they have the advantage, that
you can maneuver them easier into a position where you can
use your weapons to maximum capacity.
Especially against white stars, the omegas will almost for sure
get completely outmaneuvered. The marathons would have a bit
better chance at not getting completely outmaneuvered
(And also their increased speed can help a bit here).

For the Poseidon I would suggest, exchanging the Auroras for
either Badgers or Thunderbolts (depending on wether your enemy
likes Carriers much or not. If he doesn't field a fleet consisting
primarily on carriers I would go for Thunderbolts, else I would take
the Badgers. Maybe you should also drop 1, or 2 patrol ships in order
to get Firebolts, but I personally don't think that that would be
much of a gain [ok they have Precise Weapons and can fire them outside
of the AF range, but how many of your enemies ships will have AF?
And chances are good, that most of your fights will survive at least
a few rounds, so precies isn't really a must, because you will have the
chance to hammer his ships for a few rounds in a row. Furthermore
most of his ships simply don't have enough hit points, so that you
must fish for criticals ;) ).
